Greetings, Rotarians.
Cheers To A Fantastic Charter Night
Here is a lengthy list of club updates:
1. TONIGHT: get ready for a new clubrunner. A new version of clubrunner, "ClubRunner Nova" is a new version rolling out to Rotary clubs and districts in late 2024. This rollout will be unveiled on Thursday, February 15 at 7pm. You may tune in by registering here:

2. Looking to get more involved at the club level? Here are a few opportunities:
- We are looking for a new Programming Chair. Juergen Weiland has excellently served in this capacity for a total of approximately 6 years and is looking to pass the torch. This can be a very fun role and a way to meet interesting people.
- The Club's Membership Committee seeks to expand its committee, including a co-chair. If you have ideas about growing our members or retaining our existing membership, this is a great opportunity for you.
3. Speaking of club membership: please recall the 'buddy system' put in place by the membership committee. You are encouraged to check in with your buddy at least once per month; how are they doing?
4. The District 7815 Youth Exchange Program is alive and well. The district's youth exchange students recently gathered in Halifax for a weekend of getting to know each other, have some fun, and prepare the outbound students for their upcoming exchanges. Next up for them is a ski weekend at Ski Martock.
5. Coldest Night of the Year (February 24, 2024): This event is not a rotary event. But local rotarians make a BIG splash in contributing to its success. For example: did you know that for the past several years, the Moncton-based 'Dream Team' typically finds itself as one of the top 5 fundraising teams in all of Canada? You should also know that the Dream Team includes RotaryMWR members: Mel Kennah, Ian Franklin, Darrell Nameth, Juergen Weiland, Sherry Trenholm, and Michael Thiel. Please consider supporting them in their efforts toward being the #1 fundraising team in all of Canada and, more importantly, in their efforts to raise money for Youth Impact Jeunesse.
6. District 7815's district conference is being held in Saint Pierre et Miquelon from June 14-16th. Karla McLean has offered to take a lead on researching options for group travel. If you are interested in attending, please let her know at your earliest convenience: the longer anyone waits, the tougher (and more costly) it will be to book.
7. Please mark these dates in your calendars:
- February 24, 2024: Coldest Night of the Year in support of Youth Impact Jeunesse. Please support the Dream Team!
- February 27, 2024: Membership recruitment initiative at the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce's Business After 5 at Canvas Hotel (2nd Floor Multi-Purpose Room).
- April 12, 2024: Ticket Draw.
- May 25-29, 2024: Rotary International Convention in Singapore.
- June 1, 2024: Dragon Boat Festival.
- June 14-16, 2024: District Conference is in St. Pierre & Miquelon.
- June 20-23, 2024: Ribfest 2024 at Riverfront Park. This is an all-hands-on deck event for our club and you are asked to reserve some time in your calendars so that you can volunteer.
See you tomorrow at Legends.
