Good Evening Fellow Rotarians,

As most of us were looking forward to meet again at Legends, I have to let you know that due to safety reasons we will be having one more ZOOM Meeting this week. There is just too much snow in the forecast.
This week's speaker:  Jesse Howatt

Rotary Foundation Moment:
Do large grant disbursements ever take place in North America?
Yes! Rotary global grants can have large projects, scholarships and vocational teams all here in the US or in Canada…or in any Rotary region.  One of the most amazing aspects of The Rotary Foundation is that there are opportunities for large projects wherever there is need. Criteria must be met, but there have been and will continue to be large-scale projects in “developed” countries. Read about how a Rotary Foundation global grant made a big difference in Detroit, Michigan during the onset of the pandemic. The international sponsor was in India. Here is the story: Rotary.Foundation.Story_Pune,India-Detroit

For Discussion:
What projects can we engage in within our Greater Moncton and Riverview communities? Here is a story from District 6400: Rotary Member Decline vs Community Involvement-Club Example

Some fun and life wisdom:
Nine important facts to remember as we grow older:
#9 Death is the number 1 killer in the world.
#8 Life is sexually transmitted.
#7 Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.
#6 Men have two motivations: hunger and sex, and they can't tell them apart. If you see a gleam in his eyes, make him a sandwich.
#5 Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks, months, maybe years.
#4 Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in the hospital, dying of nothing.
#3 All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.
#2 In the 60's, people took LSD to make the world weird. Now the world is weird, and people take Prozac to make it normal.
#1 Life is like a jar of jalapeno peppers. What you do today may be a burning issue tomorrow.
... Now read again atop, re "burning issues": Where and how can we as Rotarians engage in our community?
... please discuss and share!

See you all on Friday on zoom @ noon.

Yours in Rotary,
Juergen Weiland
