2. Last reminder about nominations for secretary for 2022-23. We will be accepting nominations until Friday. Please forward to Juergen.

3. A note from Mel Kennah.

The Rotary Club of Moncton West and Riveriew has once again supported Ride for Refuge, a family-friendly fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people. The RIDE takes place on October 2, 2021. Thousands of participants will be taking part in the RIDE across Canada, with an estimated $2,000,000 being raised.

In Moncton, Ride for Refuge is hosted by Youth Impact Jeunesse and the funds raised will go to support solutions to youth homelessness offered through Youth QUEST Central which is a multi-resource centre for youth aged 16–24. Youth have access to laundry and shower facilities, computer communications, academic upgrading, job-readiness training, clothing depot, information sessions, counselling, directional planning, and artistic and recreational programming.

Again, this year, the event is virtual and has incorporated a freestyle component. This means, participants can either choose the traditional cycle or walk, or can get creative with their friends and family and choose to do anything activity they like such as fitness, crafting, gaming or more.

Registration is simple and done online at www.rideforrefuge.org . It’s not too late for the Rotary Club of Moncton West and Riverview to sign up and support some of the most vulnerable youth in our community. Put in a team or donate to a participant.
