Greetings, Rotarians. Here are a few updates for you to think about:
1.The car rally is coming up. If you haven't participated in the past, you must try it this year. It's a blast. Plus, we need help in not allowing the reigning champions a third straight victory. Date is TBD. Following members' suggestions, a Saturday afternoon rally is being planned instead of the historically Friday evening rally.
2. Our school service projects are back up and running! Both of these initiatives, Edith Cavell and Forest Glen, are seeing the impacts of Moncton's growth: there are more students than ever to feed this year. If you're able, please help. Reach out to John Wishart and/or Sue Murray.
3. This year's ticket draw will happen this rotary year, but not this calendar year. We've opted not to compete with the downtown club's November 20th ticket draw; instead, our club's ticket draw will be held sometime in the Spring. Possibly a St. Patrick's Day-themed event? Of course, Darrell Nameth has been consulted in this move.
4. If you bring them, they will come. It's great to bring a guest to rotary - you should try it. In recent weeks, we've had 4-5 people expressing a desire to become a member of our club. All of them recently attended a meeting as a guest. Let's keep up the momentum. Bring a guest. This week, we will see a new member inducted; be there to give him a proper greeting!
5. Looking ahead: Polio day is coming up - October 24, 2023. Our club has a history of plastering bill-boards advertising polio day. Here are two questions: is this the right approach to spread this message? Is there a better return on our investment? These questions were posed in last week's bulletin - have you answered them yet?
See you tomorrow in our regular meeting room at Legends!
