Our 70+ members are men and women who represent a broad range of ages and stages: from 30-year olds with young families and busy careers, to energetic seniors who still want to help make a difference in the lives of others in our community.
RCMWR is a vibrant group. In addition to a fun and active Club social calendar, we work together to hold three major fund-raisers every year: Ribfest (June); a golf tournament (August), and a ticket draw (October). The $150,000+ annual profit from these events allows us to support a number of local organizations - especially those which focus on children and their families. These include: Moncton Headstart, Youth Impact Jeunesse, Moncton & Riverview Boys and Girls Clubs, Sistema NB, Crossroads, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Adopt-a-School (Edith Cavell) to name but a few.
We have also partnered with the City of Moncton to build the Rotary Lodge in Mapleton Park, and to create a “Rotary Park” area at the new downtown event centre. I
Internationally, we are involved with numerous projects, including bathrooms in schools in South Africa and Haiti; a school bus for an orphanage in India; mechanical cows; and a school in Afghanistan. We have contributed to Shelterbox Canada, which provides disaster relief around the globe; and we play host annually to several international students as a part of Rotary Youth Exchange.
